Hi I'm Juanita Joubert and I love Arts , Crafts and being creative!

I am a Mom of two beautiful daughters, and a wife to a loving husband.

We live in a suburb in beautiful Cape Town.

​

I am in my early 50's and all my life I enjoyed being creative. In school I took consumer studies till matric. 

That is where I found my love for stuff like knitting, sewing and baking.  During school holidays me and my sister made Cindy clothes (also to be called Barbie clothes. Those days Cindy was the ballet doll and Barbie the fashion one).  Later on, one of my passions also was to study photography and in my matric year I wanted to study it us a career.  In those years though, it was not seen as a suitable secure job option, thus I attended a 18 month secretarial course, and started my career out as a conveyancing secretary, which I today still am. I discovered my love for art when I attended a Protea painting workshop at a local small business presenting art classes.  

 

The specific advert at the time about the workshop captured my interest and I decided to attend. I was scared and anxious but was guided by an amazing tutor and was amazed at the outcome of the art piece created by me.  Never would I ever have thought in my life that I was able to do something like that.  That is where my love for painting involved and I attended more workshops, and later on started painting on my own.  It was very satisfying to finally be able to fulfill my creative side which I never had the opportunity to tend to over the years. 

 

Today I still attend those classes, purely because it is relaxing and therapeutic, and I learn more and more every time.  I have also exercised all that I've learned by painting whenever I have free time on my own, and gained a lot of experience as well by looking at tutorial videos on Social Media when doing paintings on my own and searching for inspiration. 

 

I now also started hosting workshops, because I want other people to experience the journey of creating arts and crafts and discover how relaxing and therapeutic it can be, as I know what it meant to me.  I want to use my God given talent, of which I am very grateful for, to uplift and inspire others in the same way it has done for me.

Feel free to visit my blog, browse through my arts and crafts shop or book a spot at one of my workshops, which currently is happening in Brackenfell, but am I also looking at options to present events at functions and/or upon request at a home environment, if there is enough space at the customers' home.
